Abstract
⺠Exposure of mice to three different types of elevated plus maze (EPM) increases plasma corticosterone. ⺠Either formalin injection or exposure to the standard or open EPM provoked a maximal physiological response on corticosterone. ⺠Adrenalectomy neither alters nociceptive response nor attenuates fear-induced antinociception. ⺠Open EPM-induced antinociception does not depend on corticosterone release.
