Abstract
⺠We conducted a prospective study after the Madrid March 11 terrorist attacks. ⺠Depressive symptoms were common in the 12 months following the attacks. ⺠Longitudinal trajectories of depression were heterogonous. ⺠Ongoing stressors and event exposure are key drivers of a chronic depression trajectory.
