Abstract
⺠A new protocol of mental health screening for children in Child Advocacy Centers. ⺠In the first year, 46.3% of children received a follow-up mental health screening. ⺠There was wide variation in internalizing and externalizing problems. ⺠At the follow-up, 50.8% of those interviewed had initiated mental health services. ⺠Several child/family factors increased the likelihood of service initiation.
