Abstract
The advent of Internet connectivity via satellite communications has gone a long way in bridging the gap of disparities of institutions in Kenya and equivalent research institutions within developed countries. However, there is much that needs to be done to ensure the availability and maintenance of these facilities. Training is being addressed through workshops for system operators and database engineers, through arrangements coordinated by MIMCom.
