Abstract
► We investigated reading of polymorphemic words in Dutch deaf children and adults. ► Deaf children perform below hearing peers in reading polymorphemic words. ► This delay is larger for derivational words as compared to compounds. ► Deaf adults are as accurate, but slow as compared to hearing adults.
