Abstract
► Contributions of phonological skills to non-word decoding were examined after controlling for IQ. ► The participants were 15-23 years old students with mild intellectual disability. ► Phonological awareness and rapid automated naming had unique contributions to decoding ability. ► Short-term memory contributed to decoding ability under the realm of phonological awareness.
