Abstract
► We examine two pathologies: hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) and spastic diplegia (SD). ► Clinical gait analysis was conducted using a full body kinematic model. ► The results highlight different compensations at the upper-body between HSP and SD. ► HSP used spine movement while individuals with DP used arm movement to compensate for abnormal/altered lower limb movements ► Arm movements and spine movements can support the differential diagnosis between HSP and SD.
