Cardiovascular risk factors (diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and metabolic syndrome) in older people with intellectual disability: Results of the HA-ID study

► Hypertension, diabetes and metabolic syndrome are present similarly among older people with intellectual disability as in the general older Dutch population. ► Hypercholesterolemia is present less often in older people with ID as compared to the general population. ► Cardiovascular risk factors are often unnoticed among older people with ID. ► Risk groups are women, older people, people with obesity and people who live and function more independently.
