Abstract
⺠Narrative and other oral language skills were yearly measured from 5 to 8 years. ⺠Children with SLI with and without literacy delay and controls were compared. ⺠The SLI group with literacy delay had persistent oral language problems. ⺠The SLI group with normal literacy improved on text comprehension and storytelling. ⺠The SLI group with normal literacy had no reading comprehension problems in grade 3.
