Abstract
► Narrative and other oral language skills were yearly measured from 5 to 8 years. ► Children with SLI with and without literacy delay and controls were compared. ► The SLI group with literacy delay had persistent oral language problems. ► The SLI group with normal literacy improved on text comprehension and storytelling. ► The SLI group with normal literacy had no reading comprehension problems in grade 3.
