Abstract
⺠Automatic positive reinforcement is a more relevant function for stereotypies and SIB than for aggression. ⺠Contrary to earlier studies, negative social reinforcement was an important function for SIB and stereotypies. ⺠The behavior category rather than the topographies determined functional properties of maladaptive behaviors.
