Abstract
⺠We explore the reading strategies used by Dutch speaking braille and print readers. ⺠Braille readers (BR) read less accurately and slower compared to print readers. ⺠Adult BR outperformed young BR on all the reading tasks. ⺠The sequential nature of braille imposes a constant decoding in the reading process. ⺠Adult BR benefit more from semantic top-down processing than young BR.
