Lower birth weight and diet in Taiwanese girls more than boys predicts learning impediments

► We studied the birth weights, diet quality and learning ability in Taiwanese children. ► Underweight children are more likely to have been of lower birth weight. ► Girls' learning ability and overall competence depend on birth weight and diet. ► Better diet reduces the risk of learning inability for lower birth weight girls.
