Abstract
⺠Obesity as measured by BMI is more prevalent in older people with intellectual than in the general population. ⺠Using waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio more obesity than overweight is found in older people with ID, which indicates cardiovascular morbidity risk. ⺠Risk groups are women, people with higher age, less severe ID, more independent functioning, Down syndrome, less physical activity and use of atypical antipsychotics.
