Abstract
► Temporal auditory processing and speech perception skills were analyzed. ► Children with SLI with and without literacy delay and controls were compared. ► The SLI group with literacy delay scored significantly lower on speech perception. ► Speech perception had a unique predictive contribution to reading growth. ► Speech perception was more associated with literacy and less with oral language.
