Abstract
⺠Temporal auditory processing and speech perception skills were analyzed. ⺠Children with SLI with and without literacy delay and controls were compared. ⺠The SLI group with literacy delay scored significantly lower on speech perception. ⺠Speech perception had a unique predictive contribution to reading growth. ⺠Speech perception was more associated with literacy and less with oral language.
