Abstract
► Adult participants with a concurrent memory load task displayed over-selectivity. ► Brain responses were analyzed using an electroencephalogram (EEG). ► There were differences between the ERP for over-selected and under-selected stimuli. ► The P300b wave was associated with over-selected, but not under-selected stimuli. ► It is suggested that over-selectivity may not be entirely an attention-based effect.
