Abstract
ⶠReviewed 173 studies using functional assessment to identify functions of challenging behaviors. ⶠAttention, non-social, tangible, and escape functions were identified. ⶠAttention and escape were the most common functions of challenging behaviors. ⶠIdentification of social consequences for challenging behaviors can help guide treatment.
