Abstract
â¶ A total number of 266 athletes with ID (187 males and 79 females), were recruited from de Spanish Special Olympics Games and participated in a battery of 13 tests of flexibility, strength/endurance, balance and cardiovascular capabilities. â¶ A significant difference between genders was found in flexibility, but it was not found in other variables of physical fitness, although the men's scores were higher in strength/endurance and balance. â¶ Statistical differences were not significant when comparing the scores of the sportspersons (from 3 to 7Â h per week of physical practice) and non sportspersons (from 1 to 2Â h per week of physical practice).
