Abstract
ⶠThat sensory abnormalities differ between clinical subgroups of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). ⶠChildren with nuclear autism and no learning disability and those with Aspergers syndrome were found to have the highest number of affected modalities and children who were classified in an “autistic features” subgroup had the lowest number of affected modalities. ⶠSensory abnormalities have been proposed for inclusion among the diagnostic criteria for ASD in the next DSM-V.
