Abstract
▶ Determining dental age may be useful in anthropology, forensics, medico-legal studies, and dentistry. ▶ The original dental maturation indices of Nolla and Demirjian are not directly applicable to children in our setting. ▶ A linear regression model may be applied to calculate dental age. ▶ No significant differences were found between dental and chronological age in boys with cerebral palsy, mental retardation, or Down syndrome. ▶ Dental age was significantly delayed compared with chronological age in girls with cerebral palsy or Down syndrome.
