Abstract
•In conclusion PMCT was able to detect the two parts of the tip of the knife stuck in the corpse.•PMCT was capable of depicting the stab wound sequence.•PMCT was able to detect the small point tip fragment of the knife and helped guiding the autopsy.
We present an exceptional case of a homicide involving a knife, which broke during the incident. PMCT succeeded in not only detecting the fragments but also allowed for a reconstruction of the course of events.
