Abstract
The pictures made in the rocky or bony materials began their human invasion of the symbolic universe, just 100Â 000Â years ago then more intensively since 30Â 000Â years. The images, expression and communication in the same time, are organized representations in graphic systems which produce the meaning of the relations between the men and with the world. The ability to symbolise was probably the agent of the cerebral and social evolution since the first manifestations of the genus Homo. The image conducted him to the modernity, i.e. to give, in a symbolic way, the meaning for the beings and to the things.
