Économie de production au Paléolithique moyen proche-oriental : la couche VI 3 a’ d’Umm el Tlel (Syrie centrale)

RésuméSe fondant sur le matériel lithique de la couche VI 3 a’ d’Umm el Tlel, cette étude vise à montrer l’importance et les potentialités de l’approche technologique, en général, et des études concernant la Syrie centrale, en particulier. Ainsi, une attention sera accordée au contexte archéologique et scientifique de ce travail avant d’aborder l’étude technologique proprement dite. Celle-ci, enfin, mettra en évidence une production différée dans le temps et l’espace au Paléolithique moyen proche-oriental par la reconnaissance d’au moins trois chaînes opératoires distinctes.

Based on the lithical material from Umm el Tlel VI 3 a’ level, the goal of this study is to show the importance and the potentiality of the technological approach, in general, and of studies about central Syria, in particular. First, description of the archaeological and scientific context will be made, following by the technological study. This one results in a differing production in space and time, with at least three distinct “chaînes opératoires”.
