HUMAN CRANIA FROM THE TES BURIAL GROUND, KAMENKA III: THE ANALYSIS OF METRIC AND NONMETRIC TRAITS

Measurements and nonmetric traits in an Early Iron Age cranial series from Kamenka III, Southern Siberia (Tes stage of the Late Tagar Culture, 200 BC – 100 AD), were subjected to multivariate analysis. The burial ground is situated in the northern part of the Tes distribution area. The group is similar to the Tes populations of southern Khakassia and to the pooled Early Tagar group. Craniometrically, Tes and Early Tagar samples resemble Bronze Age groups of Tuva, the Upper Ob, and Xinjiang.
