Abstract
⺠Procurement and processing of rheids by hunter-gatherers in Pampa and Patagonia is analyzed. ⺠Written sources from voyagers and naturalists are compared with Holocene archaeofaunal contexts. ⺠Several differences come out after comparing both types of data. ⺠Rheas' availability or palatability for pre-european hunter-gatherers is considered.
