Abstract
												â¶ Describes the rationale for a Total Secondary Safety Index of vehicle safety. â¶ Index encapsulates both vehicle crashworthiness and aggressivity performance. â¶ Index is estimated from real world data on injury in crashes reported to police. â¶ Estimation of the index on Australian and New Zealand data sources demonstrated. â¶ Index provides a measure on which to optimise overall vehicle fleet safety.
