Abstract
ⶠDrivers report they drive more carelessly when believing they have ESC. ⶠAttitude, subjective norm and perceived control explain 65% of risk intention. ⶠUnique significant effect of descriptive norm in theory of planned behaviour. ⶠ35% of respondents erroneously believe that their car is equipped with an ESC system. ⶠDriver behaviour could reduce the positive effect ESC has on accidents.
