Abstract
▶ Safety impact of street and street network characteristics assessed with negative binomial model. ▶ For all levels of crash severity, street network characteristics correlate with safety outcomes. ▶ Denser street networks are associated with fewer crashes across all severity levels. ▶ More travel lanes on major streets and increased street connectivity correlated with more crashes. ▶ The results suggest the value of considering street network characteristics in assessing safety.
