Abstract
â¶ The first study of factors associated with jockey falls in jumps racing. â¶ Jockey-related factors were licence type, previous rides this meeting and age. â¶ Horse-related factors were indicators of proficiency in jumping races. â¶ Environmental factors were hurdle or fence type, field size, and race conditions. â¶ Comparison made with studies of falls to jumps horses and to jockeys in flat races.
