Abstract
▶ The first study of factors associated with jockey falls in jumps racing. ▶ Jockey-related factors were licence type, previous rides this meeting and age. ▶ Horse-related factors were indicators of proficiency in jumping races. ▶ Environmental factors were hurdle or fence type, field size, and race conditions. ▶ Comparison made with studies of falls to jumps horses and to jockeys in flat races.
