Abstract
ⶠIdentical road situations are experienced differently by motorcyclists and car drivers. ⶠConcurrent verbal protocols extracted from drivers/riders in an on-road experiment yielding over 25,000 data points. ⶠAnalysis of verbal data using Leximancer⢠software produces semantic networks which serve as a proxy for mental representations of road situations. ⶠAnalysis of semantic networks provides novel insights into areas of behavioral compatibility and incompatibility.
