Abstract
ⶠWe tested two types of metacognitive reflection (self-explanation and relapse-prevention) in promoting compliance with an aviation safety rule. ⶠFollowing a rehearsal flight in week one, all pilots completed three test flights in the following week. ⶠThe self-explanation group demonstrated greater adherence to the safety rule across all test flights, in comparison to the relapse-prevention group.
