Abstract
ⶠTwo main causes are motorcycle's poor conspicuity and motorist's speed/distance judgment error. ⶠRiders/surroundings brightness contrast may be a more crucial determinant of conspicuity. ⶠSpeed/distance judgment error is more common among older motorists. ⶠMotorcycle being less threatening than cars also contributes to speed/distance judgment error.
