Abstract
ⶠA study in Australian rural areas reported 119 fatal and 613 non-fatal crashes. ⶠHuman, road and vehicle factors in fatal and non-fatal crashes were compared. ⶠSeatbelt wearing, alcohol use and speed contributed most to severity. ⶠRoad conditions and vehicle factors made little contribution to severity. ⶠAlcohol use affected severity over and above its association with other factors.
