Abstract
ⶠA meta-analysis was conducted of 12 studies of the effects of ESC on crashes. ⶠResults indicate that ESC prevents ca. 40% of all crashes involving loss of control. ⶠMultiple vehicle crashes were found to be largely unchanged. ⶠBehavioural adaptation is not likely to offset the positive safety effects.
