Abstract
⺠The effect of varying operating parameters on hot persulfate treatment of BPA was investigated. ⺠Several aromatic and aliphatic oxidation products could be identified via GC-MS analyses. ⺠Products formed during the initial stages of treatment were found more toxic than BPA. ⺠A correlation existed between acute toxicity and 2,3-dimethyl benzoic acid evolution.
