Abstract

- Periodic reversing electrocoagulation (PREC) cf traditional electrocoagulation (EC).
- PREC was optimized by RSM for color removal (CR) of synthetic MO wastewater.
- CR of 97 ± 2% PREC cf 82 ± 3% EC in the optimal RSM conditions.
- MO removal rate constant of first-order reaction is 0.183 min−1 in PREC.
