Abstract
ⶠThree different size enzyme-magnetic nanoparticle complexes were compared for activity and recoverability. ⶠInitial activity was highest for the 5 nm bioconjugates > 26 nm > 51 nm. ⶠ26 nm and 51 nm bioconjugates retained 80% of the initial activity after 10 cycles. ⶠEquivalent total product formation to the native enzyme was achieved after 5 recycling steps for the 26 nm particles.
