Abstract
► Hyaluronic acid (HA) shielding polyplexes was successfully constructed. ► The stability of ternary polyplexes was improved and the cytotoxicity was reduced. ► The uptake and transfection efficiency to HepG2 tumor cells was improved. ► The HA shielding polyplexes might have potential application in tumor gene therapy.
