Abstract
⺠This is the first time the secondary motion of the piston head is measured. ⺠We measure the effect of the secondary motion on the piston ring friction. ⺠Correlation coefficient is speed dependent. ⺠At 3000 rpm the correlation coefficient is 0.829 showing strong influence.
