Abstract
⺠The main advantage of conical journal bearings is to support loads in the axial as well in the radial directions. ⺠The Reynolds equation governing the flow of lubricant in the clearance space of bearing has been solved using FEM. ⺠Simulated results presented for the various values of external load and semi cone angles. ⺠The lubricant flow rate is significantly reduced in case of multirecess conical journal bearing.
