Abstract
âºExperiments show that the cavitation behavior is depended upon the speed. Speed plays an important role in determining the cavitation pressure. âºCompared with plain surface, the dimples will help to lower the coefficient of friction between the frictional surfaces. âºFor the material used in this experiment (hardened 17-4 PH stainless steel), the dimples decrease the surfaces' resistant to wear. âºFor a given dimple depth-to-diameter ratio, a higher dimple area density is beneficial in lowering the COF.
