Abstract
⺠Sliding wear behaviour of a grey cast iron has been studied. ⺠Tests were conducted at different sliding speeds, loads and environments. ⺠Wear surfaces, subsurface regions and debris particles were analysed. ⺠Wear behaviour is explained through the response of various microconstituents. ⺠Role of various controlling factors and operating wear mechanisms is examined.
