Abstract
A finite element (FE)-based approach is presented for the precision analysis of the interfacial thermo-mechanical behavior of the roll and strip in the entire tandem mill during hot strip rolling. The validity of the proposed model is examined through the comparison with measurements. Then, the effect of various process parameters on the detailed aspects of interfacial thermo-mechanical behavior of the roll and strip is investigated via a series of process simulations.
