Abstract
â¶ Three different batch experiments were conducted for SMP parameter estimation. â¶ Hydrolysis was assumed as the first step for SMP utilization based on chemical analysis. â¶ The polysaccharides and protein were the main products in the substrate utilization stage. â¶ The humic acids, fulvic acids and lipids were appeared to be the main parts in the biomass endogenous stage. â¶ A model was developed on the platform of ASM3-SMP with the concept of simultaneous growth and storage of organic substrate. â¶ A minimum SMP production with 25.1Â mg COD/L was suggested at 40 days SRT and 8Â h HRT.
