Abstract
⺠A study of acclimatisation discourse, within two diaries from colonial Bombay 1819-1828. ⺠Dominant role of weather in the lives of the colonists demonstrated. ⺠Evidence of shift in acclimatisation discourse during the early nineteenth century. ⺠Provides early evidence of colonial cultural attitudes towards Hill Stations. ⺠Universalities in experiences of climate are suggested.
