Abstract
An analysis to the study of the momentum, heat and mass transfer of a hydromagnetic fluid past a stretching sheet in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field is carried out. The mass transfer equation includes the chemically reactive species of order 1 and the heat transfer equation includes the internal heat generation or absorption. The concentration and temperature boundary conditions are assumed to be a linear function of the distance from the origin. Exact solutions of the heat and mass transfer problems, without applying boundary layer theory, are obtained by the use of the formulation in Andersson [1] [H.I. Andersson, Acta Mech. 113 (1995) 241] for the MHD flow problem.
