Abstract
⺠We optimize two-stage biomass fractionation process using RSM. ⺠Reaction temp and flow rate of hot-water are critical to increase xylan purity. ⺠Process optimization increases xylan purity in the hydrolysates up to 82%. ⺠Two-stage fractionation enhances digestibility and ethanol fermentability of biomass. ⺠Commercial xylanase enzyme hydrolyzes xylooligomer into xylose in the hydrolyzate.
