Abstract
► A detailed mathematical characterization of agro-substrates is conducted. ► The modified ADM1 is calibrated on a real lab-scale digester. ► Virtual fermenter from the model simulates anaerobic digestion of agro-substrates. ► Initial state is a steady state of an organic loading rate 2.5 kg ODM/(mdigester3∗d). ► The simulation acts as a decision- and planning-support tool for agro-biogas plants.
