Abstract
► We treat fish processing wastewater treatment using microalgae-containing microbiota. ► The effect of different temperatures and ammonium loading rates are evaluated. ► Different ammonium removal mechanisms are elucidated for the different applied loads. ► Biomass productivity increases up to 55% with temperature. ► Fish processing could be effectively treated using microalgae-based technology.
