Abstract
► Co-digestion of different mixtures of four agro-industrial residues was investigated. ► It was proved that certain mixture ratios performed better than others. ► Synergetic effects resulted in higher methane yield YCH4 as that from individual substrates. ► The best performance obtained was 664 NmL CH4/gVSsubstrate, 43% higher than the calculated value based on YCH4 of individual substrates. ► All batches started up methane production again with a second feed after an exhaustion period.
