Abstract
⺠Extracellular laccase in white rot fungi degrades tetrabromobisphenol A. ⺠Cellobiose dehydrogenase promotes tetrabromobisphenol A oxidation by laccase. ⺠Laccase gives mono- and tricyclic brominated compounds from tetrabromobisphenol A. ⺠Mammalian metabolites of tetrabromobisphenol A are obtained using laccase. ⺠Products of tetrabromobisphenol A oxidation exhibit a moderate estrogenic effect.
